About
Companies seem to be embracing virtual worlds weather it be Second Life, Qwaq, Active Worlds, or other platforms. It appears that government organizations are often a bit slow to adapting new technologies. Perhaps they are unaware, or simply confused what the technology is other than a game with lipstick. Currently, I have been able to find Nasa and the CDC making use of second life. I found a spot for the US Coast Guard, but it appears they are still feeling out what virtual worlds are capable of. Nasa is pretty good because you can talk to scientists about theories and the projects they are working on. They have other events such as watching launches and listening in on teleconferences.
